Ken’s father died when Ken was 17. He had separated
from Ken’s mother 3 years earlier. His Will left everything
to Ken at age 20. The estate amounted to $460,000.
When
Ken learnt of his inheritance, he lost interest in his studies.
His final school exams suffered and he never considered university.
He felt that with $460,000 behind him he would never have to work
again. He no longer listened to his mother. All he had to do was
wait.
By
the time Ken turned 27 all but $4,000 was gone – spent on
travel, friends and cars.
Rather
than helping his son, Ken funded a lifestyle that ultimately did
much more harm than good.
